Prayer Points for Healing
When you or someone you love is unwell, it helps to have specific things to pray. These prayer points are areas to bring honestly to God — He is able to heal, and we are invited to ask boldly, while trusting His wisdom and timing rather than treating prayer as a guarantee.
A word before you start
Pray for healing with real hope — God still heals, and Scripture invites us to ask. At the same time, hold the outcome with open hands: healing may be quick, slow, partial, or come fully only in eternity. Unanswered prayer is not a sign of too little faith, and illness is never God's punishment. Pray honestly, lament freely, and keep trusting His goodness either way. (None of this replaces medical care — keep working with your doctors.)
For the body
- For healing of the specific illness, injury, or pain.
- For relief from symptoms and for restful, restoring sleep.
- For strength to endure treatment and its side effects.
- For wisdom and skill for the doctors, nurses, and carers.
For the heart and mind
- For peace in the place of fear and uncertainty.
- For hope that does not depend on the next test result.
- Against discouragement, isolation, and despair.
- For the person's sense of worth and dignity through it all.
For those around them
- For the family and carers who are exhausted and worried.
- For practical help and support to come through real people.
- For grace to face whatever comes, held by God.
