Privacy Policy

Prayer Directory(“we”) helps people find scripture, a prayer, and real people who will pray with them. We keep the personal information we collect to a minimum. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the EU/UK GDPR in mind.

The prayer list (email)

If you ask us to pray for you, we store the email address you give us and the page you submitted it from, so our prayer team can lift you up and, occasionally, send you encouragement. We collect this only with your consent (the box you tick when you submit) — that consent is our lawful basis for processing it. You can withdraw it at any time and we will remove you from the list.

The ministry & church listings

The contact details shown in the “people ready to pray” blocks come from publicly available sources (organisation websites and public directories) so that people in need can reach them. If you represent a listed organisation and would like your details corrected or removed, please use our update or remove a listing page and we will action it promptly.

Reports you send us

If you flag a broken link or send a removal request, we store the details of that report (and an email address only if you choose to provide one) so we can act on it.

Who processes the data

Our data is stored with Supabase (Postgres), acting as our data processor, on infrastructure in the European Union. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except as needed to operate the prayer list and respond to you. We currently use no advertising or analytics cookies.

Retention

We keep prayer-list emails until you ask us to remove you. Reports are kept while we work through them and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to withdraw your consent, at any time. Contact us at hello@prayersforyou.org and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect data from children.
