Lord, I like to be in control, and surrendering it to You is one of the hardest things You ask of me. Your own words in the garden show me the way — if You are willing, take this cup; nevertheless, not my will but Yours. Help me pray that honestly, not through gritted teeth. I bring You the things I grip too tightly: the outcomes I cannot guarantee, the people I cannot change, the future I cannot see. Loosen my hands, finger by finger. Where surrender feels like losing, show me it is actually trust. Teach me to hold my plans loosely and Your will dearly. Not my will, Lord, but Yours be done. Amen.
