Lord, there is someone I am struggling to forgive, and the hurt they caused still has a grip on me. Your word calls me to be kind and tender-hearted, forgiving others just as You in Christ forgave me; that is a high bar, and I cannot reach it without Your help. I am not pretending the wrong did not happen or that it did not hurt. But I do not want to carry this bitterness any longer — it poisons me more than them. Help me release them, and the debt I feel they owe me, into Your hands. Forgiveness may take time and may not mean reconciliation; give me grace for the process. Free my heart, Lord, to forgive as I have been forgiven. Amen.
