A prayer for you

Prayer for Work-Life Balance

For the tiredness, and the people you keep shortchanging.

He said to them, "Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile." For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
Mark 6:31 (WEBBE)

Lord, my work and my life are out of balance, and I feel it in my tiredness and in the people I keep shortchanging. Your word shows You telling tired workers to come away and rest a while; I need to hear that invitation, because I am not good at stopping. Free me from the lie that my worth is measured by how much I produce, and from the guilt that makes rest feel lazy. Help me work wholeheartedly when I am working and truly switch off when I am not. Show me what to let go of, what to say no to, and who needs my presence more than my output. Teach me to rest the way You rested, Lord, and to trust that the world keeps turning while I do. Amen.
