Lord, I long for my life to show the fruit of Your Spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I cannot manufacture these by trying harder; they grow as I stay close to You. So root me in You, and let this fruit ripen in me over time. Where I am impatient, grow patience; where I am harsh, grow gentleness; where I am anxious, grow peace. Be patient with me, since fruit grows slowly and through seasons. Make me less concerned with looking good and more with actually becoming like You. Bear Your fruit in my life, Lord, for the good of everyone around me. Amen.
