A prayer for you

Prayer for My Wife in the Military

Carrying a quiet pride and a quieter fear in the same heart.

Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.
Psalm 27:3 (WEBBE)

Lord, my wife wears the uniform, and I carry a quiet pride and a quieter fear in the same heart. Your word says that though an army encamp against us, our hearts need not fear, for our confidence is in You; steady her with that confidence and steady me. Watch over her in service — the dangers of the job, the distance from home, the toll it takes that she rarely talks about. Guard her body and her spirit, and keep her tender beneath the strength her work demands. Hold our family in the gaps her duty leaves, and quiet my worry when the news is bad. I cannot shield her or pretend she is beyond harm; I can place her again into the hands of the One she trusts. Keep my wife, Lord, and bring her home. Amen.
