A prayer for you

Prayer for My Wife Facing Surgery

Feeling the weight of not being able to do this for her.

When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
Psalm 56:3 (WEBBE)

Lord, my wife has her surgery this week, and I hate that I cannot take it on for her. Your word hands me honest words — when I am afraid, I will trust You — so I bring my fear and hers together. Settle her in the anxious hours beforehand, and give her calm as they wheel her away. Steady the people performing the operation and every choice they make over her. Guard her through the deep sleep of sedation, and bring her gently round when it is done. Hold me through the slow hours of waiting. I cannot steer how it ends; I can trust the God who holds her life. See my wife safely through, Lord. Amen.
