Lord, my son is sick, and everything in a parent wants to take the illness into my own body instead. The psalmist cried out to You and was healed; so I cry out for my boy. I ask You to heal him, and I will not apologise for asking boldly — but I also trust You with what I cannot dictate. Ease whatever he is suffering, and let him still find moments of being a child between the hard parts. Give his doctors skill and his body strength to mend. Steady me so my fear does not frighten him. Hold my son in hands far stronger and gentler than mine, Lord, and bring him through this. Amen.
