Lord, we are waiting on my son's results, and there is nothing for a parent to fix in this stretch — only to stay, and be near, and not let him face the not-knowing alone. Your word says our soul waits for You, that You are our help and our shield; be that shield around my boy now, and around the whole frightened household holding its breath. Show me how to be present without passing my anxiety to him — a steady voice, an ordinary evening, a hand to hold if he wants it. Keep my own dread from leaking into the hours we have while we wait. Whatever the results say, let them find me already beside him, and both of us standing in You. Shield my son, Lord, and help us wait. Amen.
A prayer for you
