Lord, my sister has lost her baby, and I feel so helpless watching someone I love hurt this deeply. Your word tells me simply to weep with those who weep — so help me do exactly that, without trying to be wise or to make it better. Let me be the one who shows up and stays, who is not frightened by her tears, or her silence, or her anger. Keep me from saying the things that wound even when they mean well — the reasons, the comparisons, the rush toward a bright side. Give me the grace to just be with my sister in her grief, for as long as she needs me there. Comfort her in ways I never could. Hold the baby she has lost, and hold her. And let her know, through me and through You, that she is loved and not alone in this. Teach me to weep with my sister, Lord, and to stay. Amen.
