Lord, my sister longs for a baby, and I love her and often do not know how to help. Your word invites us to pour out our hearts before You, that You are a refuge — so I bring my sister's heartache to You, and ask You to be her refuge in it. Be near her through the hope and the letting-go that repeat month after month. Help me be a safe person for her — one who does not pry, or compare, or offer the tired clichés, or suggest that if she just believed harder she would conceive. Help me celebrate my own family, if I have one, without rubbing her wound raw, and to make room for her grief even at the happiest gatherings. Where I can simply sit with her, let me sit. Comfort my sister in a way I cannot, and hold her worth and her hope, whatever her future holds. Be her refuge, Lord. Pour Your comfort into the ache. Amen.
