Lord, my husband is in the grip of addiction, and watching it close over the man I married is a slow heartbreak. Your word tells of being hauled up out of the mud and set on solid rock; reach into the mire and pull my husband out. I long to see him free, though I know this is a marathon and not a moment. Stir in him a real desire to change, and the humility to walk into treatment and lean on a sponsor or a recovery meeting. Keep me from either rescuing him from every fall or freezing him out in anger; steady me between firmness and love. Heal what this has done to our home and our children. Pull my husband onto the rock, Lord, and hold our family while You do. Amen.
A prayer for you
Prayer for My Husband Struggling With Addiction
Watching it take hold of the man you love.
“He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.”
