Lord, I worry about my husband out in a world that is not always kind — the road, the work site, the people who do not wish him well. Your word asks You to keep him from the hands of those who would do harm; so I lift him into Your keeping today. Watch over his body and his coming and going. Where there is real danger, shield him; where there is only my anxious imagination, quiet me. Guard his integrity as much as his safety, so the world does not harden him into someone bitter or afraid. I cannot wrap him in cotton wool or follow him through his day, and I would not pretend nothing could ever go wrong; I am simply trusting him to the One who is with him when I cannot be. Keep my husband, Lord. Amen.
