Lord, we heard the word today, and the life I had mapped out with my husband suddenly has a crack running through it. My mind is racing — treatments, odds, all the things I do not yet understand — and I do not know which fear to face first. Your word speaks of a heart that is not afraid of evil news because it is fixed on You; make my heart like that, even now, when the news is the worst we have had. Hold my husband as it all sinks in for him too. Give us both something solid to stand on tonight, when nothing feels solid. Steady us for the road ahead, one decision at a time, and stay close in this strange, tilted hour. We are still Yours, and so is whatever comes. Amen.
A prayer for you
Prayer for My Husband After a Diagnosis
The hour after the doctor's words can feel like the floor has tilted; bring that disorientation here.
“He will not be afraid of evil news. His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.”
