Lord, Your word asks that You not cast us off in the time of old age, nor forsake us when our strength fails — so I am holding You to that promise for my grandmother now. She has spent a long life loving this family, and I cannot bear for her to feel forgotten as illness wears her thin. Stay close to her. Soothe the aches medicine cannot reach, and quiet the fear she is too gracious to speak aloud. Give her small, ordinary comforts — a warm room, a familiar voice, an hour of real rest. Let the faith she has carried for decades carry her now. And give me the patience and tenderness to honor her with whatever time we are given. Do not forsake her, Lord. Amen.
