A prayer for you

Prayer for My Grandfather With Cancer

Watching a man you have always looked up to grow frail asks something quiet and hard of you.

Grey hair is a crown of glory. It is attained by a life of righteousness.
Proverbs 16:31 (WEBBE)

Lord, my grandfather has always seemed unshakable — the steady head of this family, the one with the stories and the final word. Your word calls his grey head a crown of glory, and I ask You to let him keep that dignity even as this disease tries to strip his strength. Spare him pain where You can, and spare his pride where You cannot — let him accept help without feeling smaller for it. Give him peace in the quiet hours, when the house is asleep and the fear is loudest. Thank You for the years of him I have already been given; grant us more if it is Your will, and either way loosen my tongue to say what a grandchild leaves unsaid too long. Crown him still, Lord — with honor, and with peace. Amen.
