Lord, my grandfather is unwell, and I am praying for the man whose stories and steadiness shaped our family. Your word says the righteous still bear fruit in old age; let his life keep bearing fruit even now, even from a sickbed. I ask for his healing and his ease, and I leave the length of his days in Your hands, where they have always been. Soothe his pain and his discomfort, and guard his dignity through whatever care he needs. Give wisdom to his doctors. Help us honour him with our presence and our patience. Be near my grandfather, Lord, in this illness, and let him know how loved he is. Amen.
