Lord, I bring You the woman I love, and I want to be good for her, not just good at saying so. Your word puts love above everything, the bond that holds the rest together; let that bond shape how I treat her day to day. Make me a man of my word with her — attentive, gentle, unselfish, the kind she can trust with her heart. Deepen what is real between us and refine what is not, and give us both honesty about where this is going. Where we are right for each other, let it grow strong; where we are not, spare us a slow drift and make it clear in time. Keep me from taking her for granted. Watch over my girlfriend, Lord, and shape me into someone worth loving. Amen.
