Lord, before I have met her, I am praying for the woman who may one day be my wife. Your word calls finding a wife a good thing and a favour from You; I receive that as grace to hope for, never as a prize I deserve. Keep her in this season I know nothing about — her joys, her struggles, the faith taking root in her. More than that, work on me: make me a man who would be good to come home to, slower to anger, quicker to serve, faithful in the small things. Spare me from chasing a daydream while neglecting the life in front of me today. And should this longing go unanswered, or answered differently, let me find my fullness in You. Prepare us both, Lord, and bring us together in Your timing if it is Your will. Amen.
