A prayer for you

Prayer for My Future Spouse

For the person you may one day share your life with — and a grateful life meanwhile.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 (WEBBE)

Lord, I am praying for my future spouse, whoever and wherever they are. Your word says two are better than one, that companionship is a gift; I bring my longing for that gift to You. Watch over the person I may one day share my life with — their faith, their wellbeing, the path that is slowly leading them toward me, if that is Your plan. Prepare both of us to give more than we take, to forgive, and to build something lasting. Guard my heart in the waiting from both despair and reckless rushing, and let me live a whole and grateful life in the meantime. If singleness is my road for longer than I hoped, or for good, meet me with peace there too. Lead us toward each other, Lord, in Your good time. Amen.
