A prayer for you

Prayer for My Father With Chronic Pain

It humbles you to see the strong man of your life worn down by it.

He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
Isaiah 40:29 (WEBBE)

Lord, my father lives with chronic pain, and it is humbling to watch the once-unstoppable man of my childhood slowed and worn by it. Your word says You hand power to the weak and strength to those with none left; pour that into my dad. I ask for relief and healing for him, while trusting You with an end I cannot dictate. Soothe the aches that have robbed him of so much he used to do, and guard his spirit from frustration and gloom. Soften his pride enough to accept help and rest. Grant his doctors real skill in easing it. Let me serve him now as he once carried me. Strengthen my father, Lord, inside the pain. Amen.
