Lord, my father is hurting in a way he would never say out loud — a man who taught me to be strong now quietly carrying his own grief. Your word says that though our flesh and heart may fail, You are the strength of our heart forever; be that strength for my dad. Reach the sorrow he keeps behind his composure, the losses he absorbs without complaint. Give him permission to be comforted, and me the sensitivity to offer it without bruising his pride. Let him lean, just a little, on the God who holds him up. Be the strength of my father's heart, Lord, and comfort him in what he carries alone. Amen.
