Lord, my father is recovering, and I am watching, with no small relief, the old strength flicker back into a man I had been afraid I might lose. Your word says the righteous still bear fruit in old age, staying full of sap and green — let that be true of my dad, that there is real life and fruit in him yet, years not yet finished. Thank You for bringing him this far. Strengthen him gently; he does not bounce back the way he once did, and his pride chafes at the slow pace of it. Guard him from setback, and steady the fear in me that flinches before every follow-up. Help us fill these recovered days well — with the talks I keep meaning to have, the gratitude I too rarely say out loud. You are his rock, Lord, and there is no fault in You; root my father deep in You for whatever years remain. Amen.
