Lord, my eyes waste away with grief and I will not pretend otherwise — my daughter is sick, and in the dark the fear sits heavy on my chest. I am in distress, and I cry to You because there is nowhere else to set this weight. Have mercy on her. Steady the hands that treat her and gentle the days that wear her down. Where I cannot reach the frightened places in her, reach them Yourself. Let her know, beneath all of it, that she is loved past measure and not facing this alone. And when my strength gives out, do not let my fear become hers — carry what I cannot hold, so that I can simply be her mother: present, tender, unafraid enough to stay. Amen.
