Lord, my daughter is carrying a baby, and I am about to become a grandparent — there is a particular wonder in watching the child I raised grow a child of her own. Your word says You knew this little one before they were ever formed in the womb; so this grandchild is already known and held by You, ahead of all of us. I want to protect my daughter the way I did when she was small, and I am learning, again, that I cannot. So I hand her to You. Be close to her in the parts of pregnancy that are harder than she admits. Make me the kind of support that steadies rather than smothers — present when she wants me, quiet when she does not. And help me carry my own worry to You rather than laying it on her. I do not know how these months will unfold, and I will not pretend to; I will keep entrusting my daughter and her child to the One who already knows them. Amen.
