Lord, the diagnosis we feared has been spoken over my daughter, and the ground has gone unsteady under us. Your word says that You take hold of our right hand and say, do not be afraid, I will help you — so I am holding You to that, for her and for me. Take my daughter's hand where mine cannot reach: into the scanner, into the long appointments, into the frightened thoughts she has at night. Be the help You promise to be. Give the doctors clarity, and give us the courage to face what is true without losing hope. And when she searches my face to know how afraid she should be, let her find more trust there than terror, because my own hand is in Yours. Hold my girl, Lord, and don't let go. Amen.
