Lord, somewhere in the world there may be a person my child will one day marry — perhaps only a child themselves right now — and I can pray for them already. Your word says a good and prudent spouse is a gift from You, so I ask You to be shaping that gift even now. Wherever they are, watch over them; grow them into someone kind, faithful, and whole, who will cherish my child and be cherished in return. Protect them from wounds that would make love harder later, and surround them with people who point them toward You. Work on my own child, too — into someone honest, gentle, and secure enough to love well and be loved well. And if marriage is not the path my child walks, let their life be no less full, no less blessed, no less Yours. I trust the person who may one day stand beside my child to You, Lord — if indeed they exist. Amen.
