Lord, I am praying for my children's friends — the ones who shape them as much as I do, for better or worse. Your word says that whoever walks with the wise grows wise, but the companion of fools comes to harm. So surround my children with good friends: kind ones, honest ones, friends who pull them upward rather than down. Where they are drawn to friendships that harm them, give me wisdom to guide without forbidding in a way that backfires. Help my children themselves be good friends — loyal, brave, the kind who include the left-out and stand up for the picked-on. Bless the friends already in their lives, and the ones still to come. And in the friendships that will inevitably hurt them, be near to heal. Send my children wise companions, Lord, and make them wise companions too. Amen.
