Father, my child is sick, and everything in me wants to take this illness into my own body instead. Since I cannot, I lift them to You, the Shepherd who carries the lambs close to His heart. Hold my little one in arms far stronger and gentler than mine. Ease the treatments that are hard on such a small body, and let them still know how to laugh and play between the hard days. Give me composure in front of them and a safe place to fall apart when they cannot see. Surround us with people who pray and people who help. Carry the one I love. Amen.
