A prayer for you

Prayer for My Brother With Cancer

A brother's love is practical love; let it be more than worry tonight.

A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity.
Proverbs 17:17 (WEBBE)

Lord, my brother has cancer, and I want to be to him exactly what Your word means when it says a brother is born for adversity. Show me how to help in ways that actually matter and not just hover — a ride to treatment, a stupid joke that lands, a presence on the bad days that asks nothing of him. Strengthen his body for what lies ahead, and guard the part of him that hates needing anyone. Keep us close, the way we were as boys before life pulled us different directions. Where I cannot fix a single thing — which is most of it — let me at least be steady. And when I am frightened for him, give me somewhere to put that fear that isn't on his shoulders. Stand with my brother, Lord. Amen.
