A prayer for you

Prayer for My Brother Facing Surgery

Watching someone you've known your whole life face the unknown.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 (WEBBE)

Lord, my brother is going in for an operation, and watching a man I have known since childhood face the unknown is its own ache. Your word names You a refuge and an ever-present help in trouble — be that for him today. Quiet his fear before they take him through. Steady the team in the theatre and let their skill truly serve him. Watch over him in the deep sleep of sedation, and bring him round safely afterwards. Hold our family together in that waiting room. The outcome is beyond me; I can carry my brother to an ever-present help. Be his refuge through this, Lord, and bring him through. Amen.
