Lord, my brother is recovering, and the fear that has shadowed us both for months is finally easing. Your word is our testimony: we sought You, and You answered, and delivered us from the fears that haunted the worst nights. Thank You for the strength coming back to him, for the ordinary back-and-forth returning to our calls, for a future with my brother still in it. Strengthen what is still weak in him, and guard him from setback. And help the two of us not slide straight back into taking each other for granted the way brothers do — let what we have come through leave us closer, and quicker to say the things that actually matter. You delivered him from so much, Lord; carry him the rest of the way, and keep the bond this hard season forged between us. Amen.
