Lord, my brother is in the thick of chemotherapy, and he is the type who will never once ask for help — so help me give it without being asked. Your word tells me to encourage the faint-hearted, support the weak, and be patient with everyone; make me that kind of brother through this. Show me the practical things: the lift when he is too wiped out to drive, the dumb jokes that still land, the sitting in silence when words would only get in the way. Carry his body through the worst of the treatment. Hold his spirit on the days the whole grind feels like it will never end. And keep me patient and present for the long haul, not just the dramatic moments. He has always had my back, Lord; help me have his now, quietly and for as long as it takes. Amen.
A prayer for you
Prayer for My Brother During Chemotherapy
Deep in his treatment, your brother may not ask for help; showing up anyway is its own language.
“Encourage the faint-hearted; support the weak; be patient towards all.”
