Lord, Your word tells me to pray for those in authority, so I bring You my boss. Whatever I feel about them on any given day, they carry pressures and decisions I do not always see. Give them wisdom in the choices that affect all of us, and fairness toward the people in their charge. Where they are under strain, sustain them; where they are tempted to cut corners or lead by fear, turn them toward integrity and respect. Guard my own heart so I am not consumed by resentment or office politics, and help me do my work honestly whether I am praised or overlooked. If our relationship is strained, soften what is hard on both sides. Help me honour the role even when respect still has to be earned. Bless my boss, Lord, and give them wisdom. Amen.
