Lord, humility is something I admire in others and resist in myself. Your word calls me to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vanity, but in humility to count others as better than myself. That cuts against everything in me that wants to be seen, right, and first. Help me find the security in You that frees me to stop promoting myself. Let me celebrate others without feeling diminished, admit when I am wrong, and serve without needing credit. Guard me from the false humility that just fishes for reassurance. Make me genuinely humble, Lord — not thinking less of myself, but thinking of myself less. Shape Your lowliness in me. Amen.
