Lord, I want to keep my family safe, and there is so much I cannot protect them from — illness, accident, the harm that comes from outside and the harm we do to one another. Your word says Your name is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. So be that tower over my family. Watch over each one as they come and go, in the places I cannot follow. Guard their bodies, their minds, and their hearts. Make our home a place of safety rather than fear. Where I am anxious about dangers I cannot control, trade my anxiety for trust in the One who never sleeps. Teach us to run to You first, not last. And cover the people I love with a protection deeper than locks and rules and worry. Be our strong tower, Lord, today and always. Amen.
