Lord, I have been the victim of a crime, and it has left more than physical marks — a sense of violation, a fear that follows me, an anger I do not know what to do with. Your word says You hear the desire of the humble and bend Your ear to the oppressed; so hear me, because I feel unseen and unsafe. Be near the frightened part of me that flinches now at things that used to be ordinary. Help me feel at home in my own body and my own house again, slowly. Hold my anger without letting it harden me into someone I am not. I will not pray for revenge, though a part of me wants to; I ask instead for justice, for protection, and for healing that takes as long as it takes. Be with others who have been hurt as I have, and who carry it in silence. You see me, Lord, even when no one else does. Stay close, and help me feel safe again. Amen.
