Lord, my heart is heavy, and I am asking simply to be comforted. Your word says You are near to the brokenhearted and You save those crushed in spirit; I need that nearness now, not as a distant idea but as something I can feel. Sit with me in the sorrow rather than rushing me out of it. I am not asking You to pretend the pain away or to hurry my healing, only to hold me while it runs its course. Be the comfort that does not require me to be okay yet. Where words fail and people do not know what to say, be the presence that stays. Draw near to me, Lord, and comfort my broken heart. Amen.
