Lord, I live with an autoimmune disease, where my own body turns against itself in ways that are exhausting and bewildering. Your word speaks of You bringing health and healing and revealing abundance of peace; I hold that hope, even through the flares and the uncertainty. I ask for healing, honestly, while trusting You with a condition that comes and goes without warning. Calm the inflammation and the symptoms that disrupt my life, and steady me through the unpredictability. Give my doctors insight into something so hard to pin down, and lead me to treatment that helps. Where I am weary of explaining an invisible illness, give me patience and support. Bring me health and peace, Lord, in body and spirit, and carry me through. Amen.
