Lord, my marriage is broken, and the grief of it is heavy and complicated — love and anger and sorrow and relief all tangled together. I do not have this figured out. Your word says that even when grief comes, You do not abandon us to it; You show compassion out of the depth of Your love. So have compassion on me here, in the wreckage. Hold both of us, me and the person I married, with a tenderness neither of us can manage toward the other right now. Keep me from bitterness and from cruelty, and from the lie that this makes me a failure or beyond Your love. Give me wisdom for the hard, practical decisions ahead, and protect any children caught in the middle. I do not yet know what is right or what comes next — staying, leaving, repairing, releasing. You do. Walk with me into it, one honest step at a time. Have compassion on us both, Lord. Amen.
