Lord, tomorrow I place myself into the hands of people I must trust, while I sleep and cannot help them. Steady the hands of my surgeon and sharpen the focus of everyone in that room. Guard my body where the work is delicate, and bring me up out of the anesthesia whole and held. As I wait, keep my mind stayed on You so that fear does not own this night. I cannot control what happens once I close my eyes, so I give that control to You, who never sleeps. Whatever I wake to, let me wake into Your peace. Amen.
