Lord, my fast is ending, and I come to You on the other side of it. Your word reminds me that fasting is between me and the Father who sees in secret, not a thing to parade; so let whatever happened in these days stay quietly between us. Thank You for what You stirred — the hunger that exposed my appetites, the prayers that went deeper, the dependence I relearned. Help me carry the good of it forward rather than snapping straight back to how things were. As I return to ordinary eating and rhythms, keep my heart from forgetting what the emptiness taught me. Let this fast bear lasting fruit, Lord, and keep me close to You. Amen.
A prayer for you
Prayer After Fasting
For the other side of a fast — carrying its good forward, not snapping back.
“But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.”
