Lord, the answer was no, and it stung more than I expected — a quiet verdict on something I hoped for, and maybe a little on me. Your word says to wait for You and let my heart take courage, still confident of seeing Your goodness in the land of the living; help me believe that today, when the rejection is the loudest voice in the room. Keep this no from hardening into I am not good enough. Let me grieve it honestly and then lift my head again. Show me anything there is to learn without turning it into self-blame, and steady the fear that another door has closed for good. Lead me toward the work that is actually mine, even when I cannot yet see it. Renew my courage, Lord, and help me try again. Amen.
