A prayer for you

Prayer After a Diagnosis

The hours after a diagnosis can feel like the floor has dropped away. Steady yourself here for a moment.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 (WEBBE)

Lord, the words have been spoken and I cannot un-hear them. My mind is spinning with everything I do not yet understand, and the future I assumed I had now feels uncertain. Be my refuge in this very hour of trouble, a present help and not a distant one. Slow my racing thoughts enough to take the next small step — one call, one question, one decision at a time. Give me clarity to hear what the doctors say and courage to face what is true. I do not know what lies ahead, but I know You are already there. Hold me steady until the shaking stops. Amen.
