Father, the week is behind us and we have come into Your house to worship; receive us as we step through Your gates with thanksgiving. Settle the rush and the worries we carried in with our coats. Tune our hearts to sing, our ears to hear, and our wills to obey. As the music begins and Your word is opened, draw every person here into a real encounter with You — the regular and the visitor, the joyful and the heavy-hearted. Be the unseen centre of everything we do this morning. We give You this gathering, Father; be lifted high among Your people, and let us leave having truly met with You. Amen.
