Lord, as my child heads off to school today, I send them out with a prayer. Your word says to be strong and courageous and not afraid, because You are with us wherever we go; let my child carry that with them through the school gates. Be with them in the classroom, the playground, and the moments I will not see. Give them kind friends and patient teachers, courage when things are hard, and joy in learning. Guard them from unkindness, and help them be kind themselves. Calm any nerves they are feeling this morning. Watch over my child all day, Lord, and bring them safely home to me. Amen.
