How to Create a Prayer Corner: Step by Step

Want to build a prayer corner this weekend? Follow these simple steps to turn a small, unused spot in your home into a peaceful place to meet with God.

Step 1 — Pick the spot

Look for a quiet, low-traffic corner — a bedroom nook, a window seat, the end of a hallway. It only needs room for a seat and a small surface. Natural light is a bonus.

Step 2 — Clear and clean it

Remove the clutter that has gathered there and give it a wipe. An open, clean space already feels more peaceful and prayerful.

Step 3 — Add a seat and a surface

Place a comfortable chair, cushion, or kneeler, and a small table or shelf within reach for your Bible, journal, and prayer list.

Step 4 — Make it inviting

Add soft light, a candle, a meaningful verse or cross, and maybe a plant. Keep it simple — a few calming touches, not a crowded display.

Step 5 — Use it

Decide on a regular time to sit there and start small — even five minutes. The corner only becomes special by being used. Let it grow into the place your heart goes to pray.
